44 killed in Bangladesh floods and landslides amid heavy rains

Floods and landslides caused by heavy rains in Bangladesh killed at least 44 people and stranded 2.67 lakh households across seven districts, the country's disaster management ministry said on Saturday. Authorities said homes were submerged in flood waters and covered by layers of mud. The army and navy are reportedly distributing food, drinking water and medicines to affected areas.
