440-million-year-old fossil of ancient shark-like fish discovered in China

A 440-million-year-old fossil teeth belonging to a shark-like jawed fish have been unearthed in China's Guizhou Province. The arrangement of the fossilised teeth suggested they came from a fish with an arched jaw margin, with offset tooth rows, similar to those found in sharks. The fossil suggests that shark-like fish appeared at least 15 million years earlier than previously thought.
