47 Palestinians killed in Israeli strikes in central Gaza

Forty seven Palestinians were killed and several injured, most of them children and women, in Israeli strikes in central Gaza, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported on Friday. The strikes reportedly took place when several families had gathered in the area. After the initial bombing, a second strike targeted residents and bystanders who had rushed in to help, witnesses said.
