47,221 POCSO cases filed across India in 2020: Centre in Lok Sabha

The Centre on Friday informed the Lok Sabha that 47,221 cases were registered in the country under the POCSO Act in 2020 with a conviction rate of 39.6%. The Centre added that 6,898 cases were registered in UP, the maximum among all states. Manipur recorded a 100% conviction rate in such cases for three consecutive years, the government added.
