5 Italian tourists die during cave scuba dive in Maldives, oxygen toxicity suspected

Five Italian divers died while exploring an underwater cave in the Maldives, in what local authorities called the worst diving accident in the country's history. The divers began their expedition to explore underwater caves in the Vaavu Atoll, located at a depth of 50 metres, but never resurfaced. While investigation is underway, some diving experts suspect role of oxygen toxicity.
