5-year-old elephant Durga gets grand welcome at Madurai Temple

Five-year-old elephant Durga received a grand welcome at Madurai's Meenakshi Amman Temple on Vinayaka Chaturthi. She travelled nearly 3,000 km from Assam to Tamil Nadu after receiving forest department approval. Devotees showered her with flowers as she entered the temple. Durga joins Parvathi, making her the shrine's second female elephant. A camel was also recently added.
