500 people fall sick after drinking contaminated water in K'taka

More than 500 people fell sick after drinking contaminated water supplied from a local overhead tank in the Udupi district of Karnataka. According to officials, none of the affected patients are in serious condition. Udupi District Health Officer Dr IP Gadad has confirmed that water-borne pathogenic salmonella bacillary strains have been detected in the water supplied to two wards.
