5,000 Cape fur seal pups found dead on beach in Namibia, probe launched

Namibia has launched a probe after an estimated 5,000 Cape fur seal pups were found dead on a beach and the country will send samples to South Africa. The pups were born prematurely and died almost immediately, marine biologist Naude Dreyer said. Female seals will abandon their young or abort their foetuses when there's a shortage of resources, he added.
