As companies push towards AI-led productivity models, there's been a massive surge in layoffs, with around 51,000 jobs cut globally in the first three months of 2026. Oracle recently laid off around 30,000 employees, nearly 18% of its workforce, while Amazon eliminated around 16,000 roles. Meta had slashed roughly 1,500 positions in January and announced 700 job cuts in March.
