52 out of 53 top Indian apps use dark patterns, reveals ASCI study

A study by ASCI and design firm Parallel HQ revealed that 52 out of 53 top apps in India use dark patterns. It found that travel booking apps are using most number of dark patterns like false urgency, privacy deception and drip pricing. Dark patterns use deceptive apps or website designs to manipulate or trick users into making certain choices.
