53.13 cr Jan Dhan accounts opened in 10 yrs, more than EU's population: Govt

Over 53.13 crore accounts have been opened under the PM Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) since the launch of the scheme 10 years ago, the government said. It added that the total number of accounts surpassed the European Union's population. "Jan Dhan Yojana has been paramount in boosting financial inclusion and giving dignity to crores of people," PM Narendra Modi said.
