54% urban households see worsened economy: RBI survey

RBI's September 2026 Urban Consumer Confidence Survey found 54.5% of urban households feel economic conditions worsened, up from 40.9% a year ago. The Current Situation Index fell to 87.9. Nearly 49.5% cited worsening employment, and 95% reported rising prices. The survey covered 6,054 respondents across 19 cities.
