54-yr-old JD(S) poll candidate Shivananda Patil dies of heart attack

Shivananda Patil, who was one of the 93 candidates from JD(S) to contest for the upcoming Assembly elections in Karnataka, passed away after suffering a heart attack on Friday night, party leader HD Kumaraswamy said. The former CM took to Twitter to announce Patil's demise and called his death "shocking". The 54-year-old leader was set to contest from Sindagi.
