5.7-magnitude earthquake hits Greece; tremors felt in Egypt

An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 on the Richter scale hit Greece's Crete on Wednesday, according to the country's Geodynamics Institute. Egyptian authorities said that the quake was felt in some of the country's cities. Initial reports suggested there was no loss of life or property. The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) had earlier registered the tremor at 6.1.
