58 out of 80 TMC MLAs submit letter to Assembly speaker to form new faction

In a blow to Mamata Banerjee, at least 58 out of 80 TMC MLAs submitted a letter to West Bengal Assembly Speaker Rathindranath Bose to form a new faction. The speaker accepted the letter which recommended expelled TMC MLA Ritabrata Banerjee be made the Leader of the Opposition. This comes amid infighting within the TMC after losing state Assembly elections.
