AMU withdraws diktats banning T-shirts and jeans for girls

The Aligarh Muslim University on Saturday withdrew the diktats banning T-shirts and jeans for hostel girls. "It was issued by one of the provosts of a residence-hall, not by top university administration," said Public Relations Officer, Rahat Abrar. The withdrawn diktats ordered girls to wear "salwar-kameez" with "dupatta"; barred them from visiting cinemas and asked to keep only one mobile-phone.
