5-year-old Everest climber returns to hero’s welcome in Singapore

There was a hero's welcome at Singapore Changi Airport for 5-year-old Abyan Imtiaz Irkiz, who became the youngest Singaporean to reach Everest Base Camp on April 29, climbing with his father, Zikri Ali. With that, Abyan surpassed the previous record of Indian-origin Singaporean climber Om Madan Garg, who had reached the Everest Base Camp as a 6-year-old in October 2022.
