5-year-old girl dies from brain-eating amoeba after dip in pond in Kerala

A five-year-old girl has died from a brain-eating amoeba after taking bath in a pond in Malappuram district of Kerala. She was undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical College's Institute of Maternal and Child Health. She had taken a dip in the pond on May 1 and started showing symptoms of fever, headache and vomiting on May 10.
