5-yr-old girl gets 26 stitches after kite manja slits her throat in Maha

A five-year-old girl received 26 stitches on her throat after sustaining an injury caused by banned nylon 'manja' (kite string), sharpened by powdered glass, in Maharashtra's Nagpur, police said on Sunday. The injury was worsened after her friends, who she was playing with, tried to help her by pulling the 'manja' once it got stuck in the wound, police added.
