6,000+ guest lecturers jobless in Karnataka after new UGC rules

Over 6,000 guest lecturers in Karnataka’s government first-grade colleges are now unemployed due to new eligibility rules introduced by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The mandate requires NET, K-SET, or a Ph.D, in addition to a postgraduate degree. Many longtime lecturers, some with decades of teaching experience, are left without jobs, facing uncertainty and difficulty.
