6 additional Assembly seats proposed for Jammu, 1 for Kashmir by delimitation panel

The Delimitation Commission has proposed to increase the number of Assembly seats in Jammu by six and add one Assembly seat in Kashmir Valley, taking the total number of seats there to 43 and 47, respectively. Nine seats have been proposed for STs and seven for SCs in J&K. Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is expected to continue to have 24 seats.
