6 booked after Punjab groom allegedly calls off wedding over dowry

A groom in Punjab's Faridkot allegedly called off his wedding after his family demanded ₹10 lakh in cash and four tolas of gold as dowry shortly before the ceremony. The bride's family had completed preparations and invited relatives for November 4 wedding. Following a complaint by the bride's father, police registered a case against six people, including the groom. An investigation is underway.
