60 crore Indians are today overweight or obese: Prashant Desai

Citing ICMR data, Prashant Desai, a health educator revealed that over 60 crore Indians are currently overweight or obese. He warned that obesity increases heart attack risks by 200% and cancer risks by 300%. With India’s median age at 29, Desai emphasised that addressing this "obesity-diabetes" combination is critical to prevent a future healthcare collapse.
