63 lakh Sri Lankans are facing food insecurity: UN agency

UN's World Food Programme (WFP) on Saturday said that around 63 lakh Sri Lankans are facing food insecurity amid the severe economic crisis in the country, ANI reported. The UN agency further said that it has been able to raise only 30% of the $63 million it needs to provide emergency food supplies to 30 lakh people till December 2022.
