Australian cricketing legend Sir Don Bradman's Australian side scored a record 721 runs in 129 overs on the opening day of a first-class match against Essex at Southend-on-Sea on May 15, 1948. Don Bradman top-scored with 187, made in a little over two hours. The following day the Aussies bowled Essex out for 83 and 187.
