7 dead in synagogue attack outside Jerusalem, gunman neutralised

At least seven people were killed and several others were injured after a gunman opened fire outside a synagogue in East Jerusalem on Friday, Israeli officials said. Police described the attacker as a "terrorist" and said he had been "neutralised". Israeli police commissioner Kobi Shabtai said the shooting was "one of the worst attacks we have encountered in recent years".
