7 hantavirus cases identified on Atlantic cruise ship: WHO

Seven cases of hantavirus have been identified on a Netherlands-based cruise ship in the Atlantic Ocean, the World Health Organisation said. The virus has claimed the lives of three people, including a couple on the ship, which is carrying 147 passengers and crew. Human hantavirus infection is primarily acquired through contact with the urine, faeces or saliva of infected rodents.
