7 new govt medical colleges get permit in UP, MBBS seats rise to 10,500

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has given permission to operate seven new government medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh. MBBS studies will start in these colleges from the academic session 2024-25. With this, the number of MBBS seats in the state has increased to 10,500. As per a government spokesperson, six more medical colleges will appeal to the NMC for permit.
