70 hot springs in Uttarakhand, Himachal identified for power generation

Dehradun's WIHG institute has identified over 70 hot springs in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh with potential to generate power. Out of the 40 hot springs in Uttarakhand, at least 50% have electricity-generation capabilities, WIHG said. It added that its exercise will also help understand challenges of plugging CO2 release from these hot springs by condensing it back into the water.
