70% of Indians one hospital bill away from bankruptcy

Rising medical costs, overcrowdedness and poor facilities in govt hospitals, and inadequate company health coverage are forcing 65% of people to pay medical bills out of pocket. 40 crore Indians don’t have health insurance. People are selling assets, vehicles, and even houses to arrange funds. Buying separate health insurance that provides for sufficient coverage has become a necessity.
