7,000 flee communal violence in Ethiopia, seek asylum in Sudan

At least 7,000 Ethiopians have fled communal violence in Ethiopia's Metekel Zone and sought asylum in Sudan, the UN refugee agency said on Tuesday. The Ethiopian government had declared an emergency in the region in January. This is in addition to over 61,000 Ethiopians who have fled the conflict in Ethiopia's Tigray to Sudan.
