Filmmaker Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan has received death threats amid the controversy surrounding his film '72 Hoorain'. His mother also received rape threats from several Instagram users, screenshots of which have surfaced online. The film had premiered at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2019, post which Chauhan won the National Film Award for Best Direction in 2021.
