747 foreigners held in drug cases in 2025, 203 from Nepal: NCB

The number of foreign nationals arrested in narcotics cases in India rose to 747 in 2025 from 660 in 2024, a Narcotics Control Bureau report said. It added that 203 of the foreigners were from Nepal, 143 from Nigeria, 97 from Myanmar and 10 from Kenya. Poppy and cannabis cultivation destroyed rose to 42,282 and 38,193 acres respectively in 2025.
