75% of defence capital outlay is for domestic procurement: PM Modi

PM Narendra Modi spoke about allocating ₹7.85 lakh crore to the defence sector in the Union Budget 2026. He said that nearly ₹2.20 lakh crore has been allocated as capital expenditure for the three armed forces. “Out of this ₹2.2 lakh crore, 75% is reserved for...procurement from domestic defence industries,” PM Modi said, adding defence exports have crossed ₹23,000 crore.
