8 arrested at Delhi airport with 6.5 kg smuggled gold

Delhi Customs busted a gold smuggling racket at IGI Airport, arresting eight passengers and recovering 6.5 kg of gold worth Rs 9 crore. Acting on a tip-off, officers intercepted a Dubai flight on September 21. Gold was concealed in bags under seats, fashioned into chains, and painted silver and black. All eight are remanded to 14-day judicial custody.
