8 killed in suspected outbreak of Marburg disease in Tanzania: WHO

An outbreak of suspected Marburg disease has killed eight people in a remote part of northern Tanzania, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Tuesday. "We're aware of 9 cases so far, including 8 people who have died," WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated. The Marburg virus, which originates in fruit bats, causes symptoms such as fever, diarrhoea and vomiting.
