80% of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme budget spent on ads: Kharge

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 10th anniversary of 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' scheme and claimed that 80% of its budget was spent on advertisements. “When this was exposed by the Parliamentary Standing Committee, the funds for the scheme were reduced by 63% between 2018-19 and 2022-23," Kharge further said.
