80% students fail Mumbai University's distance BA, BCom exams; it defends results

More than 80% of students enrolled in Mumbai University's distance BA and BCom programmes failed their first-year examinations, with the results declared over four months after the exams. However, the university defended the results, saying the figures do not indicate that students failed in every subject. It also said the results were in line with those of previous years.
