80 children freed after new abduction in Nigeria: Police

Nigerian Police and a local community self-defence group rescued over 80 students after gunmen briefly abducted them on Saturday night, a police spokesperson announced on Sunday. The foiled abduction comes less than two days after the release of 344 schoolboys who were kidnapped in the same area on December 11. The police also recovered 12 stolen cows from the gunmen.
