86-year-old sailor and his dog rescued 460 miles off San Diego

An 86-year-old sailor and his dog were rescued about 460 miles off San Diego, over two months after his last contact on August 20, the US Coast Guard said. A cargo ship's crew took them off his damaged sailboat after an emergency beacon alert. He was weak and had difficulty walking but had no major injuries, the Coast Guard said.
