9 flights diverted from Mumbai airport due to heavy rain

Nine flights were diverted after the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai temporarily suspended flight operations between 12.42 am and 5.24 am on Sunday after heavy rain lashed the city. "Flight operations recommenced with effect from 5.24 am and are proceeding as per schedule," the CSMIA said. Mumbai saw the disruption of local train services and vehicular traffic.
