9 in 100 women in Punjab subject to spousal violence

The latest National Family Health Survey (NFHS-6) 2023-24, released on Friday, shows a decline in spousal violence in Punjab. According to the survey, the prevalence of spousal violence among married women aged 18-49 years declined from 11.6 per cent in NFHS-5 (2019-21) to 8.7 per cent in NFHS-6, a drop of 2.9 percentage points.
