9 killed in lightning strikes in Odisha, IMD issues rainfall alert

At least nine people were killed, including six women, in separate incidents of lightening strikes across Odisha on Friday, the officials said. Three deaths were reported in Koraput district, two each in Jajpur and Ganjam districts, and one each in Dhenkanal and Gajapati districts. The IMD has issued orange alert for Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar districts.
