9 policemen get death sentence for custodial deaths of father-son duo in Tamil Nadu

Nine policemen were sentenced to death by a Madurai District Court for custodial torture and deaths of a father and son duo in 2020 in Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi. The deceased - P Jayaraj (58) and J Benicks (31) - were brutally assaulted by policemen inside Sattankulam Police Station. The court said the case falls under the 'rarest of rare' categories.
