901 police personnel to receive medals on R-Day, 140 for gallantry

A total of 901 police personnel will receive various medals on Republic Day. The tally includes 140 Police Medal for Gallantry, 93 President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service and 668 Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Central Reserve Police Force has bagged the most number of gallantry awards (48). Notably, no President's Police Medal for Gallantry has been awarded this year.
