94,199 fans attend Day 1 of Boxing Day Ashes Test, create history

As many as 94,199 fans attended Day 1 of the Boxing Day Ashes Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Friday, making it the highest recorded attendance for a cricket match at the venue. It surpassed the 93,013 at the 2015 ODI World Cup final and eclipsed the all-time Test record of 91,112 set during the 2013 Ashes Test.
