94-year-old woman gives up US citizenship, seeks to become Indian again

A 94-year-old Andhra woman, Kondragunta Mahalakshmamma, has appealed to Bapatla District Collector J Venkata Murali to expedite her Indian citizenship application after renouncing US citizenship. Mahalakshmamma, who became a US citizen in 2000 and returned to India in 2018, said her last wish is to "die as an Indian" and have her last rites in her native village in Andhra.
