95% of India's listed firms use dark patterns in online services: Study

Over 95% of India's publicly listed firms offering online consumer services use "dark patterns" that can mislead users during purchases, subscriptions and refunds, a study by LocalCircles stated. It declared a few listed firms such as Meesho, Jockey, Hamleys, Eco Mobility and EaseMyTrip as "dark pattern-free". Only seven out of 23 firms claimed themselves to be dark pattern-free after self-audit.
