96-year-old June Squibb makes history, becomes oldest Tony nominee
Veteran Hollywood actress June Squibb made history by becoming the oldest Tony Award nominee for her role in the play 'Marjorie Prime', at the age of 96. Squibb made her Broadway debut with the original 'Gipsy' production in 1959. Lois Smith had previously held the record at 89 after being nominated (and winning) for her role in 'The Inheritance'.
