99.92% villages have banking outlets within a 5 km radius: Govt

The Finance Ministry on Monday said that 99.92% of villages in the country are covered with banking outlets located within a radius of 5 km. This is based on data uploaded by banks on the geographic information app Jan Dhan Darshak (JDD), the ministry added. Villages in Dadra and Nagar Haveli have a 100% coverage, according to the data.
